I ordered my Black Charger SRT8 on November 7th of 2005. How long has everyone else had to wait?

Ouch!11 That's a long time.... Do you know what staus your CSRT8 is in? Are you sure that the dealer you are buying from even has an allocation for the CSRT8's... You may want to consider find one near you that is already on a lot. They are out there, you just need to look. Good luck.

I feel for you. I ordered on 1Nov05, dealer still has no info inspite of various dates provided. I finally lucked into a dealer 80 miles away last week that has a VIN number. I put another deposit down for it. According to the Dodge mole my car should be built in the next two days, but who really knows. Daimler/Chrysler should really revamp how they do this. Ford and Chevy are doing big cutbacks and D/C are screwing with cash customers so they can maintain their Draconian dealership system.

If i were you i would look aroud to other dealers to see if they had one like 1BAD4DR said. You can actually find one the hardest one to find right now is the Jeep i think you should call around or go online and check out the dealers you would be willing to drive to..Good luck

I feel for you guys that are waiting. I had no problem getting one that was on the lot they had 4 to choose from when I bought mine.

Thanks for the input. I have talked with the dealer, called Dodge customer service and it appears that everything is being done that can be done at this point. The regional manager is pushing for me and attempting to expidite the order.

I have spent hours searching for other Charger SRT8s to buy but cannot find one that fits my Criteria. Black, option groups 1 and 2, airbags and absolutely no sunroof. I would consider getting one that also had option group 3 but would prefer to not spend the extra $2,500. The dealer has searched locally (150 miles) and has come up short. I've asked that tomorrow he do a nation wide search and if we find one we can discuss delivery options.

It seems that once any options are added the dealers always add the sunroof. I'm 6'7" and cannot fit in the car with the sunroof without my head touching the top. Without the sunroof I don't think that I've ever been more comfortable in a car.

If anyone has ordered and then received the SRT8 that they ordered I would like to know how long they waited.

The anticipation reminds me of being a child, buying a toy from the store with my dad and then not being able to open it until we got home.

Apparently the dealers have to receive an "allotment" of the Charger SRT8 before it is delivered. I assume that this allotment is based on how large a dealer they are, if they are willing to take vehicles that are slow selling and probably pure luck. Tracking on eBay you see some dealers with three or four on eBay at the same time, I don't know how they got them. Apparently just because you are willing to order and put the money down, you do not have priority over a dealer with pull and no definite customer.

I just got back from my dealer (Chat session only) and I was talkin to the guy who order's, he has another three coming in.... Two black and one Red.... All III option groups plus the Moon Roof...

I ordered mine from a dealer in Hatboro, Pa and got it in 45 days. Incredible! Let me know if you would like his name. He has had no problems getting them.

I did a search of all dealers in KC, mostly red available, a few black, but all with the sunroof. I did find a Blk magnum SRT with no sunroof. That will also save you the $2K gas guzzler tax, and be roomy enough for a big lad.

This was @ the dealer that sold me my SRT8 Mag under sticker.

I did did wind up getting my Black SRT8 with no sunroof from dealer in IL. I had to pay a bit more and travel but at least I'm all set. It has Options groups I and II. The only difference from what I ordered is that this one does not have the side airbags.

A week later, I went to a Mopar show at a major Dallas Dodge/Chrysler dealer and they had a silver Charger SRT8 as well as a black 300C SRT8 on the showroom waiting to be sold! Oh well, the Charger they had had the SRT group III package, which I didn't really want, and mine has the group II package and side airbags, so I got exactly what I wanted and didn't have to wait. Yes, it was kind of an impulse buy, but as a fan of large American rear-wheel drive V8 cars I can say this is the most incredible car I have ever owned!

What? There's another Silver SRT8 in the area! Congrats man. Mine is in Allen, TX. Had it since December. Ordered it through Dallas Dodge... The service dept there is great if you ever need it...

I just recieved mine on the 12th and ordered it in Jan. There are several in your area (I was looking while waiting). My dealer was able to track the progress of my order. I don't know what your dealer is doing.

I don't want to make you sick but I got mine the very next day and from my local dealer. It came with every thing you can get except the rear DVD.

Did yours have a sunroof?

Yes, it has everything, from the auto air to auto headlamps and windows on both front doors and heated seats (not that I need those in south Georgia) Just not the rear DVD and Memory seats. The only options that I couldn't get. But I am the only one that drives it and I have a portable dish player for the boys in the back seatwhen I let them ride. I did get it in the RT and it is nice but gets in the way of my elbow while driving but not too much.

Of course I love both eqully just not the same...

OK. It seems that most DO have the sunroofs. I'm 6' 7" and cannot fit in the ones with the sun roof. That was my problem. At the time I picked up my car there were only three black SRT8 Chargers with NO sunroofs.

I caved in. I wanted option grp III only with no roof. Fat chance. Order only. and they said at least 6 months. This is a huge dealer but they put in their order 2(?) times a year for their allotment. So if they've already got their allotment they wouldn't even be able to order one until they're up again? All the dealers order the short supply cars loaded 'cause that's what everyone wants. When I checked there wasn't a single one on a lot configured the way I wanted anywhere in the Western US...
