I will be ordering my Charger SRT8 in the next few months and would like to know about the Himi engine. I have heard that there are a few quirks that need to get ironed out. The one I test drove was flat out haulin buttt. I loved it. Let me know. I used to own an Impala SS and miss the fun.

the only one i know about is with the tranny hesitation and some cars have it more that others and we have the SRT engineers working on a fix already .. Oh yeah! and the brake pads they are working on a fix for that too!! There is just alot of brake dust and there is some grooving .. But believe me dont let those things stop you from getting this car the new ones might already be fixed.... You will love this car :)

No issues with the engine... at all. As hit iit stated, those issues are very small and the SRT Engineers are working on a fix.
Do not get discouraged, buy the car, believe me you will not be disatisfied.
Good luck, and if you have any other questions, start a thread or you can PM me. I will get you an answer.

Welcome supermom. Place that order! This car is almost too much fun!
I had a 96 SS. It was a great car but not as fast or agile as the Charger.

As far as the engine, this thing might just be bullet-proof.
Folks out there running 500+ HP at the crank and I have yet to hear aobut a problem. Well there was one guy with a Supercharged 5.7 that was setup too lean and he burned some pistons, but that was fixed under the SC warranty.

My drealer called me to refund my deposit....the factory pushed out some orders due to the production line breakdowns.
I will have to look at exsisting inventories for the color and options I desire.

I am a bit confused by this post. Did you already have a VIN number? If so, your car will be BUILT. Did the dealer cancel your order? Did you cancel the order? Was there some kind of timing on the order?
Production line breakdowns? Sounds kind of fishy to me... They are still shipping them at a pretty good clip from the last report I saw...

Almost sounds as if the Dealer sold the car from under SRT8Charger... Guess we need to wait and hear the answers to your questions. That sucks though. The good news is that there are pleanty of Dealers out there with instock Charger SRT8's.
