I just want to paint the polished surround.

I did it on my Magnum grille. You really need to scuff the polished surface well or nothing will stick to it.I then used a self etching primer to get a better surface for the sealer primer to stick to.Then paint away, and use clear after to help protect from chips.

Haha I already bought it and its sitting here. I didn't know you sold it. How much to paint mine though. I want the surround completely painted, and then the Chrysler emblem that I have put on.

Honestly by the time we ship it back and forth across the country along with my cost it would probably be cheaper to find someone local to do it.

I think its best to be up front, just the right way to do business. If you had bought it from me then that would have been a different story. Just make sure who ever paints that it get epoxy primerd first otherwise the paint is not going to stick.

Do you need to scuff up the chrome alot?

Definately. On the one in the photo I actually used a 3m roloc cleaning disc that is used to clean off gasket material from engines. You can't paint over chrome without doing this and then epoxy priming the parts first.
