does anyone know the procedure to program new tire pressure sensors? i have the programming magnet tool but i am unsure as to what the procedure is. if anyone knows please post it. thanks.

I was told to fill tires with 45psi, then deflate to normal pressure.
If it is the same as the GC SRT, there was no programming needed at all. I had them installed in my new wheels, reset the computer, and viola, I was off and running.

so it doesnt need the magentic programming tool like most of the other Schrader style sensors?

when you say reset the computer, what was involved in that? on the Corvette you have to use a magnetic programming tool and go through a series of steps in diagnostic mode and hold the tool by each wheel and wait for the horn to blow then go to the next one until you do them all. let me know what you can. thanks.

Take air pressure above 45 psi then reduce to prescribed psi of tire. :)
I am going to merge the two posts together. :)
The multiple steps you mention were similar to those steps that had to be done on my last vehicle (Ford), when I swapped sensors. It was a total pain.
For my Jeep, we simply unplugged the computer, drained the residual power, then plugged it back in, turned the car on and let it idle for several minutes. No additional programming required at all.

I am sorry, but I have to ask. How exactly do the pressure sensors work?

They measure your tires psi and will tell you through EVIC which tire (left front) has lost psi.
If you rotate the tires, you must bring each tire to 45 psi then reduce to get the sensors to recalculate where they are and wht the new PSI is.
At least that is how it was explained to me. :)
I don't know mechanically, but the sensors are actually really cool. They had a 1x2 inch (give or take) gel pad that must read the pressure somehow.

Cool, thanks for the reply everyone. I just sold a set of our 22 inch charger srt8 replica wheels with new sensors installed and I was going to sell the magnetic programming tool along with them but apparently it’s not needed, I didn’t want to sell something that won’t be used. Thanks again for the info.
I just change mine and go for a drive. It sees them automagically. (I have two sets of wheels, both equipped with sensors.) I had one wheel sensor changed once and it let me know one sensor was missing. What it didn't tell me was that it was already aware of the other one. I stopped at a traffic light, turned off the ignition, pulled the key, opened the door, closed the door, restarted and it saw the fourth properly, right away.
Smart system.
