The ASP underdrive pulley for the 6.1 liter HEMI. That's right guys we have the first "prototype" ASP pulley on our 2006 CSRT8. This is the first one they produced and we will be putting it through it paces to make sure that it doesn't have any problems. We will be testingit for about a month and then sending it back to ASP. If everything is good............off to production it will go. I can say that the car does feel quicker on the butt dyno. I will also have real dyno numbers on it shortly.
This pulley is only 15% underdriven, where as they are normally 20-25% underdriven from ASP. Reason for that is due to th efact the 6.1 has a very small pulley on it from the factory, smaller than the 5.7's. ASP did not feel that they could go any smaller with it and still have it hold up and work properly without failure. So, we are not going to see what the 5.7 Ram guys have seen with their ASP pulleys. I wil keep you guys updated on this.

Thanks,
Brad

Don't get to excited, heres the results http://www.srt8oc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1128

Not bad, but not great. We'll keep working and see if we can improve it.

Sorry for being a dummy, but I am still not clear as to what this pulley's function is or where it is located?

Is this the cam or crank pulley? Will I be able to add this to my S/C and will it give me some more gains (after your testing of course)?

Thanks Brad.

Oh yea, which catbacks are you going with? I thought I had read somewhere that you were going with the Zoomer's?

Ron,
This is a crank pulley and you might be able to use it with your s/c depending on the s/c you choose. If all works out, the pulley will give you more power.

We were going to go with the Zoomers exhaust but changed our minds and are going with the Mopar Performance (corsa) cat back. We should be able to get it on by this Friday. We wanted to try a cat back that people didn't already have to many results on. Not many have the Mopar cat back yet, lots of people have the zoomers. Just trying to give people more info and results.

This is a tried and true way to scavenge horsepower. I have used ASP pulleys on 5.0 Mustangs before with good results. I would imagine a 5-8rwhp gain, and maybe a 1/2mpg increase in fuel mileage.
Make sure you keep us informed on this! And tell them NOT to charge $400 for it!!
